The death of Emmett Till (14) occurred in 1955 in the town of Money, MS. When visiting a relative in Money, he and a few friends walked into Bryant's Grocery and Meat shop where Till was accused of whistling or touching Carolyn Bryant, Roy Bryant's wife. Till was killed by Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam four days after the incident, they kidnapped, shot, tied him to a large metal fan with barbed wire. He was thrown in the Tallahatchie River and was discovered days later. Till's mother wanted an open casket funeral to show the world how cruel the people of this world are. In 2007, Carolyn Bryant had admitted to lying about Till's advancements on her.
